Japan’s Nippon Steel restarts blast furnace No.1 at Kashima Works after 9 months

Japanese steel giant Nippon Steel Corporation has restarted its No.1 blast furnace at Kashima Works after a gap of nine months in response to demand recovery, mainly for automobiles in domestic and overseas market, Japan Metal Daily reported. The operations at this furnace was temporarily suspended in Apr’20 due to sluggish steel demand impacted by the pandemic.
