- Japan’s leading EAF mill – Tokyo Steel has hiked its scrap purchase price today.
- The company has increased prices by up to JPY 1,500/t ($14) for all five works.
- After today’s revision, the company would pay a bid price for H2 scrap at JPY 51,500/t ($473) for Tahara and JPY 48,000/t ($440) for Utsunomiya works, effective from tomorrow (18th May’21).
- Strong global scrap prices and increased bids for Japanese scrap export lifted domestic scrap prices.
