Japan’s leading EAF mill- Tokyo Steel has announced price hike for scrap purchase by JPY 1,000/t ($10) for Tahara and JPY 500/t ($5) for Okayama works. The company would now pay JPY 32,000/t ($306) for Tahara and JPY 31,500/t ($301) for Okayama plant, w.e.f tomorrow (25th Nov’20). However, prices have remain unchanged for the other three plants including Utsunomiya works. This is the company’s seventh price hike made in Nov month.
