Japan: Tokyo Steel cuts scrap purchase prices at Okayama; keeps rates unchanged for other plants

Tokyo Steel revised its scrap purchase prices for the third time this month, effective 29 Jan’26. The company cut prices by JPY 500 ($3/t) at its Okayama plant, while keeping rates unchanged at other facilities. Price revisions at the Takamatsu plant remain suspended.

• Kyushu, Okayama: JPY 43,500/t ($284/t).
• Tahara, Nagoya, Kansai, Utsunomiya: JPY 44,000/t ($287/t).
• Tokyo Bay: JPY 44,500/t ($289/t).
