Japan: Tokyo Steel cuts scrap procurement prices by JPY 500/t ($3/t) at 3 plants

Tokyo Steel has adjusted scrap procurement prices for the first time this month, effective 3 Jun’25. Prices were reduced by up to JPY 500/t ($3/t) at the Kyushu, Takamatsu and Okayama plants, while they remained unchanged at the rest. Post-revision, H2 scrap prices were as follows:

• Kyushu: JPY 40,000/t ($280/t).
• Takamatsu: JPY 38,500/t ($270/t).
• Okayama: JPY 40,500/t ($284/t).
