India: Chhattisgarh government to auction 9 mineral blocks

  • Bid submission to close on 14 Jul’25
  • E-auction to be held on MSTC platform

In a significant move aimed at unlocking the potential of its rich mineral reserves, the government of Chhattisgarh has invited tenders for nine mineral blocks on 30 May 2025. The auction includes four limestone blocks in Balodabazar, two iron ore blocks in the Khairagarh-Chhuikhadan-Gandai region, and three bauxite blocks in Surguja district. This initiative reflects the state’s commitment to promoting sustainable mining and attracting private sector investment.

The bidding process will be conducted through the Metal Scrap Trade Corporation (MSTC) online auction platform. The Directorate of Geology and Mining (DGM) will oversee the process and announce the winning bidders directly on the same platform.

Interested and eligible participants can only take part in the e-auction after purchasing the tender document online. A non-refundable tender fee, specified individually for each mineral block, must be paid through the MSTC platform. As per the applicable norms, Goods and Services Tax (GST) will be payable under the Reverse Charge Mechanism.

Payment for the tender document can be made via real-time gross settlement (RTGS) or net banking through the payment gateway available on the MSTC platform. Bidders will be granted access to the e-auction process only upon successful payment and registration.

The last date to purchase the tender document online is 11 July 2025, and the deadline for bid submission is 3:00 PM IST on 14 July 2025.
