Japan: Tokyo Steel cuts scrap buying prices by JPY 500/t ($3/t)

Tokyo Steel has reduced domestic scrap procurement prices for the fourth consecutive week, effective 7 Sep’24, with a total drop of JPY 1,500/t ($10/t). Prices are now:

• Tahara, Okayama, Kansai, and Kyushu plants: JPY 44,500/t ($311/t).
• Takamatsu, Utsunomiya plants: JPY 43,500/t ($304/t).
• Nagoya plant: JPY 43,000/t ($301/t).
