Japan: Ferrous scrap exports inch up 9% m-o-m in Jun’21

Japan has registered a marginal rise of 9% m-o-m in its ferrous scrap export volumes in Jun’21. The country exported 0.73 mn t of scrap in Jun’21 as against 0.68 mn t in May’21, according to data maintained with SteelMint.
South Korea was the largest importer at 0.29 mn t in Jun’21 as against 0.21mn t in May’21 followed by Vietnam at 0.24 mn t.
On a yearly basis, exports fell by 14% to 4.07 mn t in H1 CY’21 compared to 4.76 mn t in H1 CY’20.
