Iran: Steel production declines 8%, y-o-y, due to power problems

Iran’s steel production declined 8% in the first nine months (Mar-Dec’21) of the current Persian Year due to power outages this summer.

• Steel billet and bloom production stood at 12.47 mn t, a fall of 13% against the same period last year.
• The production of finished steel fell marginally by 5%, y-o-y, to 14.72 mn t.
