Iran: Billet, rebar prices fall as government seeks to control currency rates

Iran’s domestic billet and rebar prices witnessed a sharp fall due to the government’s current policy of controlling currency rates. However, market participants expect prices to trend up again, sources informed SteelMint.

• Steel billets prices fell by 7,000 Rial/kg to 169,500 Rial/kg as against 2 Jan’23.
• Rebar prices stood at 199,000 Rial/kg on 4 Jan, a decrease of 6,000 Rial/kg.
