Iran adds 1 bn t to iron ore reserves in six years: IMIDRO

The Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO) has recently reported that about 1 billion tonne (bn t) of new iron ore reserves have been identified in the Islamic Republic over the past six years. The share of new discoveries to Iran’s total reserves is around 33%, as per latest updates derived from a report by IMIDRO. Iran’s total iron ore reserves currently stand at 2.74 bn t. The report informed that explorations for more reserves are currently underway in 30 provinces in Iran.
