Indonesian thermal coal prices decline amid weak overseas demand

Indonesian mid-CV 5000 kcal/kg NAR grade thermal coal prices fell sharply by $7/t w-o-w amid weak demand from overseas buyers. Despite the Indonesian government banning coal exports from 48 mining companies, the impact of it on prices was limited. Although there were few enquiries from China for low-CV coal, miners were heard offering discounts. Enquiries from India were also weak amid seasonally dull demand in the country.
