Indonesia: High CV coal prices rise on tight supply, strong Chinese demand

The Indonesian thermal coal (5,000 GAR) index rose by $4/t to $83.8/t, FoB, on 11 Jun’21, due to strong Chinese demand for high calorific value (CV) coal and prevailing tight supply in Indonesia. Prices for 5,800 GAR and 6,500 GAR coal rose by $3/t and $4/t respectively to $93.4/t and $104/t. Spot cargo availability continued to remain low due to heavy rains in Indonesia.
