Indonesia: Bumi Resources to set up country’s second coal gasification unit

Indonesia’s largest coal producer, Bumi Resources, will be setting up the country’s second coal gasification facility which is set to consume 6 mnt of coal per year to produce 1.8 mnt of methanol, as per latest reports. The unit is likely to be completed by late 2025 or early 2026 and will be built in a joint venture with US-based Air Products and Chemicals.
