Steel exports by India were recorded at 2 mn t in Jun’21, as per latest reports. Flat steel exports by India were at 1.25 mn t, while long steel products exports were at 0.25 mn t. Exports of semi-finished steel were recorded at 0.55 mn t. Deduction of export rebate by the Chinese authorities and possible imposition of export tax by the Middle Kingdom are supposed to keep Indian steel exports as well as prices firm, SteelMint notes.
