India’s crude steel production stood at 9.97 mnt in Jul’22, largely flat m-o-m compared with 9.96 mnt in the previous month, as per Joint Plant Committee (JPC). On an annualised basis, production rose by 2% against 9.75 mnt in Jul’21. Production volumes were impacted owing to preponement of maintenance shutdown and lower capacity utilisation by mills in Q1 amid weak demand in the domestic market.
