Despite sharp fall in Ingot prices across
India, Indian pig iron prices remained steady on low production, most of the plants running at much lower
capacity reported market sources.
Steel grade Pig Iron in Raipur is being offered at Rs. 28,200/MT (Ex-Works) where as Rourkela is qoted at Rs. 26,200/MT (Ex-works) for the
same grade.
Pig iron prices are unlikely to fall sharply
over unavailability of iron ore lumps and higher scarp prices.
“Couple of Pig Iron plants in Durgapur were
shut for about last ten days and have started their operations. Durgapur Steel Grade Pig Iron prices are trading in the
same price at Rs. 26,500/MT (Basic Prices).” said a trader based in
Durgapur.
