Following sharp recovery in billet market, Indian secondary structure manufacturers have increased prices sharply by INR 500-1,100/MT across major markets. Major price hike of INR 1,500/MT was reported in Raipur, followed by Hyderabad (+1,000).
It is heard from sources that Raipur is offering discount of INR 500-700/MT on trade of bulk quantities.
Positive sentiments prevailing in domestic steel market coupled with pick up in demand post conclusion of festive season has somehow supported structure market too.
In the meantime, billet prices have also risen by INR 1,000-1,500/MT W-o-W and hovering in the range of INR 23,500-24,400/MT.
Current prices of 40X40 mm angle in Durgapur are assessed at INR 25,300/MT (+900), Raipur at INR 25,000/MT (+1,083), Mumbai at INR 26,900/MT (+600), Ahmedabad at INR 25,100/MT (+400) and Hyderabad at INR 27,000/MT (+1,000).
Heavy structure 200X100 mm beam is available in Ghaziabad at INR 27,900/MT (+500), Raipur at INR 24,700/MT (+1,150), Ahmedabad at INR 25,600/MT (+400) and Durgapur at INR 25,500/MT (+500).
Offers for 200X75 mm channel are assessed at INR 25,500/MT (+500) in Durgapur, INR 28,400/MT (+500) in Ghaziabad, INR 25,800/MT (+400) in Ahmedabad, INR 25,200/MT (+1,150) in Raipur and INR 27,600/MT (+600) in Mumbai.
