Anthracite Coal import offers have further gone up as the consequence of strengthening demand and rising prices of other coal variants.
The latest import offers of the coal variant were assessed further up of around USD 3/MT, at USD 119/MT CFR India.
The rise in the import offers could be attributed to demand strengthening in Russia as power plants there started stockpiling the coal in view of the peak demand in the imminent winter season.
At the same time, the import offers also have gone up as other coal variants became costlier. As a matter of the normal trend, Anthracite coal prices are always at a premium over the prices of other forms of coal. Anthracite coal is the purest form of coal, with the highest Carbon content.

On the other side, the rise in the import offers will mean nothing to Indian buyers as they have shifted their focus to other forms of coal, from the relatively costly Anthracite coal.
