According to a recent release by Press Information Bureau (PIB), Indian Railways has come up with some initiatives to attract more freight business to rail transport and to increase the modal share of rail in overall transport. A good news to iron ore and steel industry is that the Ministry has granted 15 to 20% concession on long lead traffic on Coal, Iron ore and Iron & Steel.
