JSPL's Plate offers of size 5-10 mm is standing in the range of Rs 34,500-35,000 per ton (basic), payment advance. Prices of other sizes are quoted as mentioned: 41-63 mm at Rs 34,500/MT, 64-80 mm at Rs 36,500/MT and 85-120 mm at Rs 37,000/MT.
As per market sources, the company is exporting its material to Taiwan, at $650/MT CFR which includes freight of $42/MT to Far East coastal region.
‘We expect good demand in the months to come, as import are likely to lessen and domestic demand expected to increase on account of project completion deadlines’ said a senior JSPL official who din’t want to be named.
“Our Angul plant will start running in full capacity in a couple of months and Plate production will stand between 5-6 million tons per annum”, he added.
JSPL will sale more than 2 million tons per year. Essar looks to sell 1 million ton per annum and SAIL about 1.6 million ton per annum.
“Demand from Chennai has increased we anticipate good realizations in final quarter of FY12-13. Whereas, sale might remain intact in 1st quarter of FY 13-14 and thereafter might reduce due to over capacity”, another top official from JSPL shared. In future, the company might prefer to export with lesser profit margins also due to large quantity order.
