Indian Pig Iron prices stable on firm demand and low production

Pig Iron Steel Grade prices remain unchanged in most of the
places like Raipur, Cuttack and Goa.

Pig iron manufacturers at
Rourkela raised their offers by
Rs 100/MT and Steel Grade is being offered
at Rs 26,500/MT (Basic price). We had a number of enquiries today and demand is
on a rise. We expect prices to increase further in the range of Rs 200-300/MT
in about two to three days,” said sources from the city.

“Durgapur Pig Iron prices have shown an uptrend
by Rs 200/MT and Steel Grade is being quoted at Rs 27,700/MT (Basic price). Some of the
plants are shut for a few days as they are under maintenance. There is shortage
of material due to low production and demand is also weak,” remarked a Durgapur
based broker.

“Pig Iron demand is decent in Jharsuguda with  Steel Grade prices unchanged at Rs 26,200/MT (Basic price),” reported a trader in Jharsuguda.

“Delhi Pig Iron demand is dipping and prices
are anticipated to be on the lower side. This is an off season for Pig Iron in Northern
India which would gain June onwards,” said a trader from Delhi.
