Indian Pellet Prices find support on Short Supply of Iron Ore

Indian Iron pellet prices have found support on low availability of Iron ore in domestic market, after the Supreme Court suspended operations of Odisha based mines running under second deemed renewal.

Sponge iron manufacturers earlier mentioned that they are finding it tough to source Iron ore and hence reliant on Pellets.

Despite falling Sponge iron prices in domestic market owing to monsoon, Pellet manufacturers have preferred to hold offers.

“Pellet demand is moderate as prices have corrected quite a lot, but it is becoming really difficult for Sponge manufacturers to survive owing to acute shortage of Iron ore prevailing in the market at present. We expect prices to sustain in coming days,” said Raipur based Pellet manufacturer.

“Demand is stable and  expected to remain the same for next 1-2 months,” stated a southern region based Pellet manufacturer.
