Pellet exports from India were recorded at 1.16 MnT in Nov’17, up by 40% M-o-M.
According to the customs data maintained with SteelMint,Indian pellet exports moved up 40% M-o-M to 1.16 MnT in Nov’17 compared to 0.83 MnT in Oct’17. Export volumes have also moved up 11% Y-o-Y in Nov’17 compared to 1.05 MnT in the same month last year.
Indian pellet exports have recorded at 10-month high in Nov’17. Prior to this in Jan’17 Indian pellet export volumes were recorded at 1.17 MnT.
In the first eight month (Apr-Nov) of FY’18 Indian pellet export has been increased by 30% to 6.09 MnT against 4.67 MnT in the same period last year.
Indian pellet export offers moved up in Oct’17 – Towards the beginning of Oct’17 Indian pellet export offers were assessed at USD102-103/MT, FOB India which climbed to USD 110-112/MT, FoB by the month end. Amid increased buying interest from Chinese steel mills for high grade material, Indian pellet export offers moved up.
KIOCL and JSPL pellets exports rose sharply in Nov’17– KIOCL turned out to be the largest exporter and moved up four times in Nov’17 to (0.22 MnT) followed by JSPL at (0.22 MnT), Rashmi Metaliks (0.18 MnT), Essar Steel ( 0.17 MnT). Other major exporters were BRPL (0.16MnT),Bagadiya Brothers (0.11 MnT), Arya Iron and Steel (0.05 MnT) and Jindal SAW (0.05MnT).
Pellet Exports from Mangalore port Quadrupled in Nov’17 -:
Pellet exports from mangalore port jumped four times from 0.05 MnT in Oct’17 to 0.22 MnT in Nov’17.
Pellet exports from Paradip Port were registered highest at 0.53 MnT in Nov’17 increased by 15% M-o-M compared to 0.46 MnT in Oct’17. Other major ports for Indian pellet exports in Nov17 were – Dhamra (0.26 MnT), and Haldia (0.09 MnT)
Indian pellet exports to Japan and Oman increased in Nov’17- China continues to be the biggest Indian iron pellets importer with 92% share to 1.06 MnT in Nov’17 compared to 0.83 MnT in Oct’17 followed by Japan 0.06 MnT and Oman 0.05 MnT.
