Indian Mill Concludes 30,000 MT Billet Export Deal to China

China continues importing billets, this was the second time within the week when the country booked billets from India. The deal value was reported to be around USD 395/MT, CFR for Apr’20 shipments for 30,000 MT.

Unlike other nations, China is the only economy, which is recovering from the pandemic. This is made all the major billet exporting nations combative for supplying the billets to China, as due to the pandemic, other billet consumers are largely lockdown. With the resumption of construction activities, trades have also gained. Domestic billet in China is assessed at RMB 3120/MT, ex Tangshan, including VAT.

Clues can be witnessed with current offers from Russia. On contrary to the latest India-China latest deal, the Russian mills have started offering billets to China at USD 390/MT, CFR, down USD 10/MT, against last deal. According to SteelMint’s reliable sources, some Russian mills are even offering at USD 380-382/MT, CFR levels.
