Indian high-grade Graphite Electrode prices increase by 12% in March

GE prices have moved up this month (600mm UHP at INR 290,000/t), due to increase in needle coke (NC) costs. NC prices from China are up by 42% against Dec’20 prices. Indian suppliers have lesser competition from China at present due to the increased domestic consumption there, U.S. sanctions on major GE producer, Kaifeng Carbon and Chinese GE performance being not up to the mark in terms of quality.
