Indian DRI, billet and re-bar update – 9 May

India’s induction furnace (IF) steel market witnessed mixed price trends, while offers from the medium-sized mills varied in the range of INR 100-1,500/tonnes (t) d-o-d on 9 May’22.

Sponge iron and billet prices fell in the range of INR 100-1,500/t following a sharp decline of INR 1,500/t in Mandi Gobindgarh’s billet market.

Rebar (Fe 500) offers varied in the range of INR 100-1,000/t across regions. Prices edged down in Muzaffarnagar by INR 1,000/t.

Overall, the market observed a significant drop in semi-finished steel prices, while offers for finished steel products varied throughout the day.
