Indian Chrome Ore Production Increased by 47% in Nov’15

Production of chrome and chrome concentrates increased approximately by 47% in Nov’15 in comparison to Oct’15.

Odisha contributes to around 98% of the total Chrome Ore produced in India. Chrome ore production in Odisha increased by 47% and stood at 389,994 MT in Nov’15. In Oct’15, chrome ore production was 265,367 MT.

Captive miners in Nov’15 have increased production marginally by 11.4% M-o-M. However, merchant miners in Nov’15 have increased production by a substantial 66.7% M-o-M, mainly contributed by OMC and Tata Steel.
