Indian billet manufacturers raise offers on high steel prices

“Billet prices have increased by Rs. 100-200/MT at most of the places. Manufacturers have raise their offers on higher steel prices in physical and futures market.

Demand has not been significant and markets are in a wait and watch mode with trading volumes being thin. Sellers are uncertain of steel prices and expect prices might not sustain if Steel prices fall in South India,” said a Raipur based trader.

Billet trading prices is being quoted in the range of Rs. 33,800-34,000/t (Ex-Works). 

Rourkela Billet trading prices is hovering around Rs.34,000/MT , where as Billet in Mumbai and Jalna is offered at Rs. 34,600 and Rs. 34,400-500/MT respectively.
