SteelMint Indian Scrap Index fall by 0.43 points (0.48 percent) on lower buying interest and reached to 87.75 points on Saturday.
Demand for HMS scrap in India remains calm this week. Not much improvement was seen in the market including Durgapur and Kolkata. Prices have corrected by upto Rs 300/MT this week in these places.
However, improved sales has pushed the scrap prices in Alang and Kandla by Rs 300/MT.
Currently, HMS scrap at Alang is traded at Rs 23,800/MT and Kandla Rs 23,200/MT (Basic prices, ED & Taxes extra). Prices at Durgapur and Kolkata region stands at Rs 28,300/MT and 27,700/MT respectively, both including all taxes.
