Coal India subsidiary Western Coalfields Ltd. (WCL) has commissioned the Dhoptala opencast mine at Ballarpur in Maharashtra. The project has reserves of 53.11 mnt of coal with a capacity to produce 2.5 mnt annually. Apart from the commissioning, the foundation stone for the First Mile Connectivity project was laid at Chandrapur during a virtual event held yesterday.
