Shipbreaking melting scrap prices increased by INR 200/t in Alang, Gujarat, on 30 Mar’22. HMS (80:20) prices are reported at INR 48,000/t exy. As per sources, rising semi-finished steel prices in the spot market yesterday and moderate buying interest for scrap by the IF mills in Bhavnagar encouraged scrap suppliers to raise offers.
