India: Vedanta’s Hindustan Zinc to invest INR 12,000 cr for capacity expansion

Vedanta’s Hindustan Zinc has approved an INR 12,000 crore ($1.45 billion) investment to set up an integrated zinc complex, as part of its plans to double its zinc, lead, and silver production capacity. The project will expand refined metal capacity by 250,000 tpa, with corresponding increases in mining and milling. Targeted for completion in 36 months, this move is part of the company’s broader 2x growth strategy.
