Vedanta, a leading exporter of pig iron, has floated a 40,000 t export tender for Aug’22 shipment. The tender is due on 30 Jun’22, sources informed SteelMint. The material offered has specifications of 3.5-4.6% carbon, 0.08% sulphur, and 1.5% max silicon. India’s pig iron export shipments were recorded at 1.07 mnt in FY’22. However, post imposition of a 15% export duty, steel-grade pig iron exports from India have slowed down.
