- Two lots of HC ferro chrome to be offered
- Bids fall by INR 2,250/t ($24/t) at previous auction
Vedanta-Ferro Alloys Corporation Ltd (FACOR) will conduct its ferro chrome auction on 11 September 2026. The auction will feature two lots of high-carbon (HC) ferro chrome, both comprising material with Cr:57% min (10-150 mm).
At the previous auction held on 25 August 2026, the larger lot of HC ferro chrome (Cr:57% min, 10-150 mm) fetched a final price of INR 117,600/t ($1,237/t), up INR 600/t ($6/t) from the base price of INR 117,000/t ($1,230/t). The smaller Cr:57% min lot fetched INR 117,800/t ($1,239/t), while the Cr:54% min (10-20 mm) lot fetched INR 116,100/t ($1,221/t) exw.
Indian domestic ferro chrome prices have been steady lately in the range of INR 118,500-119,000/t ($1,246-1,252/t) exw. However, with raw material costs, particularly of met coke, rising steadily, prices might witness increase in the coming days. Hence, market participants are expected to closely watch the auction outcome for indications of near-term price direction.
