India: Tata Steel’s Crude Steel Output Up 17% Y-o-Y in Q1 FY18

Tata Steel, the major steel giant announced its Q1 FY18 results.Tata Steel’s crude steel output on Q-o-Q basis, declined by 8% to 2.94 MnT in Q1 FY18 as compared to 3.20 MnT in previous quarter (i.e. Q4 FY17).

On Y-o-Y basis company’s crude steel output jumped by 17% in Q1 FY18 against 2.52 MnT in Q1 FY17.

Tata Saleable Steel Output fell 6% Q-o-Q in Q1 FY18-
Company’s saleable steel output has plunged by 6% to 2.95 MnT in Q1 FY18 against 3.13 MnT in previous quarter. Whereas on yearly basis the same has increased by whopping 26% against 2.34 MnT in Q1 FY17.

Tata Steel key performance highlights-
1.The company’s pellet plant has achieved best ever production of 1.70 MnT in Q1FY18 against 1.67 MnT in Q1FY17.

2.Moreover exports volumes have grown 17 times in first quarter of FY18 against Q1 FY17.

3.Successful ramp-up of Pulverised coal injection system for Blast Furnace in Kalinganagar plant.

4.Sales volumes have grown 28% to 2.75 MnT in Q1FY18 against similar time frame of previous year.
