Tata Steel BSL has exported 9,000 t of Linz-Donawitz (LD) slag to Bangladesh. Cemcoa Ltd., a Hong Kong-based trading house which has shown interest in development of LD slag in the cement-making process in Bangladesh, facilitated the deal. The proposed plan is to export 100,000 t of slag per annum. Tata Steel BSL generates approximately 1 mn t of LD slag per year.
