China: Coal and lignite imports fall by 18%, m-o-m, in Oct’21

China’s coal and lignite imports fell sharply by 18%, m-o-m, to 26.9 mn t in Oct’21 amidst an improvement in the coal supply situation in the county and also due to falling domestic thermal coal prices. During the Jan-Oct’21 period, total coal and lignite imports by China stood at 257.3 mn t, an increase of 2% on the year.
