Tata Metaliks Ltd (TML) has reduced basic grade pig iron prices by INR 1,400/t to INR 39,900/t ($545). However, TML has rolled over foundry grade pig iron prices, currently at INR 43,600/t, exw, for Jun’21 deliveries in Kolkata and Howrah markets.
- Earlier, TML had raised prices in mid-May’21 by INR 1,800/t for basic grade and INR 1,600/t for foundry grade. Pig iron prices remained volatile amidst fluctuations in steel prices.
- TML’s production capacity is 550,000 t/year of hot metal, out of which over 200,000 t/year is converted into ductile iron (DI) pipes and the rest into pig iron.
