Tata Metaliks has raised foundry grade pig iron prices by around 2.7% or INR 1,100/t ($15/t) following strong demand as well rising steel and pig iron prices through the private plants in India.
- Fresh offers for foundry grade pig iron are reported at INR 42,900/t, while the company’s offer for basic grade pig iron stands at INR 40,100/t, which was up by INR 900/t yesterday (2 Aug). Prices are exw-Kharagpur and applicable for Kolkata and Howrah markets.
- Market sources are expecting India’s pig iron prices to remain strong on account of active demand as well as slight supply crunch in the domestic market followed by accelerating steel prices globally.
