Leading domestic steel manufacturer Tata Steel BSL based in Angul, Odisha conducted an auction for 500 t of scarfing mill scale on 27 Dec’21. As per sources, the entire quantity was booked at INR 9,200-9,250/t exw. SteelMint’s weekly mill scale (fines, Fe 70/68%) assessment stood at INR 6,400-6,550/t exw-Raipur on 24 Dec. With melting scrap prices rising across markets on 27 Dec, the mill scale auction received good response.
