SteelMint’s price assessment for sponge C-DRI (FeM 80%, mix material) stands at INR 33,200/t ($446) exw-Rourkela, up by INR 200/t d-o-d. Around 2,120 t of sponge C-DRI (FeM 80%) deals were confirmed in the range of INR 33,000-33,200/t exw for FeM 80% grade material. Sources said that although demand remains dull, supply shortage is keeping sponge iron prices supported.
