The Indian Ministry of Steel has revised its 2025 steel procurement policy to prioritise sourcing domestically manufactured iron and steel products for government purposes. This policy, aimed at strengthening the local industry, applies to designated iron, steel products, and related capital goods and exempts purchases made for commercial resale. A standing committee will oversee implementation and ensure compliance.
