Sponge iron prices in Rourkela are stable on 3 Aug’21. Current offers for sponge iron C-DRI (FeM 80%) stand at INR 32,500/t exw. Around 3,400 t of deals were confirmed at INR 32,400-32,700/t exw-Rourkela. According to sources, prices are firm due to limited supply and active demand from local buyers as well as Nepal. An export deal for 1,260 t (FeM 80%) of C-DRI lumps was reported to Nepal at around INR 34,000/t ($458), loaded on to rake, from Odisha.
