A 2,000 t of South African RB3 (4800 kcal/kg NAR) coal was booked at INR 14,000/t at Gopalpur Port recently. The freight between the port and Rourkela is at INR 1,400-1,500/t. Amid rising demand for mid-to-high CV South African coal in Europe, Indian DRI producers are procuring RB3 stock. A supramax vessel of RB3 has been booked at $135/t FOB for end-Oct loading from non-RBCT Port.
