India: South African RB2 coal assessed at INR 7,925/t, ex-Gangavaram

In a confirmed deal, a bulk quantity (23,000-25,000 t) of South African RB2 (5500 NAR) grade coal was sold at INR 7,925/t at Gangavaram port, while offers are still at INR 8,000- 8,100/t levels, as per CoalMint assessment. Elevated portside prices are keeping sponge iron manufacturers on the sidelines amid weak sales volumes due to COVID-related restrictions.
