South African thermal coal prices at Indian ports dropped further this week amid sluggish buying interest and an increase in inventories following the arrival of June shipments. RB2 (5500 NAR) was assessed at INR 7,600/t, down INR 100/t w-o-w, while RB3 (4800 NAR) slipped INR 50/t to INR 6,750/t. Demand remains weak, with one RB2 deal heard at $65/t FOB Panamax CNF India last week.
