India: Shyam Metalics records nearly 30% q-o-q growth in stainless steel sales in Q2FY’27

Shyam Metalics and Energy Ltd. reported a significant increase in its stainless steel sales volumes during Q2FY’27, with recording improved average realizations. The company sold 29,847 t of stainless steel during the quarter, up 28.45% q-o-q from 23,237 t in Q1FY27. However, average realisations increased 0.70% q-o-q to INR 177,156/t, compared with INR 175,925/t in the previous quarter.

On a monthly basis, the company recorded 9,778 t of stainless steel sales in September FY’27, down 10.45% m-o-m from 10,920 t in August FY27. With dispatches, average realizations declined 7.77% m-o-m to INR 1,68,803 /t from INR 1,83,032/t, indicating softer pricing during the month.

On a year-on-year basis, September performance remained robust. Stainless steel sales volumes increased 35.06% y-o-y from 9,778 t in September FY’27, while average realizations rose 22.99% y-o-y from INR 1,37,247/t.

The integrated metal producer also announced a memorandum of understanding with the Maharashtra government on Monday to set up a 9 million tonne per annum (mnt/year) integrated steel plant in Chandrapur, entailing an investment of INR 50,000 crore.
