A total of 16 ships comprising 1,16,140 LDT arrived at Alang Port for recycling in Jan’23. These volumes were higher by 54% from 75,632 LDT arrived in Dec’22. The Indian ship-breaking market was active last month. The average price increased by 2% m-o-m to $547/LDT. Indian prices and demand continue to lead the rankings in the ship recycling industry across the continent.
