SAIL conducted an auction for 3,000 t of basic pig iron on 30 Jun’22 from its IISCO Steel Plant. Buyers booked only 1,000 t at a weighted average price of INR 44,550/t exw. Bid prices were almost stable compared to the previous auction on 16 Jun which fetched a price of INR 44,480/t exw. Another auction held on 29 Jun for 4,000 t from the Bokaro Steel Plant didn’t receive bids due to the higher offer price of INR 45,500/t.
